Snow Days

Yesterday morning the snow flurries began. By this morning my car was blanketed, the road was barely visible, and the grass disappeared completely. I am working from home today due to these conditions. I am grateful that was decided as my Georgia driving is still not adjusted to snow. I find the fluffy ice to be fascinating. It sparkles and reminds me of sugar. It is such a pretty shade of white. Not like the snow we had in Georgia the few times it occurred, reds and grays from Georgia clay. I dreamed of winters such as these as a child. To live through them now is a delight. My nervousness about driving and my avoidance of the excessive cold do not dampen the childlike joy I feel watching out my windows.
